Drown

The bridge lay above the water sparkling like a sunbeam. She stood in the middle looking as if a ghost living out her haunt. She was eerie still, just listening to the sound off the wind echoing. Her eyes fixed on the water below. She saw something no one else could have seen. She stared at the water below. She saw a girl in the water. She was screaming. She was drowning, falling deeper and deeper in the murky water. The girl was dying. She stared from above but did not scream out for help. She wanted the girl to drown. She wanted her to die. She didn’t know why nor did she care. She looked closer at the drowning girl. She knew she didn’t really care about what she looked like but she felt some sense about her. As she looked closer, her heart jumped. She knew that girl. She was that girl. Without a second glance she started to walk away from the bridge. That girl needed to die.
